What’s KYC Verification?

A: KYC stands for “Know Your Customer” - it’s a standard identity check that helps us confirm who you are.
It’s a legal requirement that protects both you and the platform from fraud, bots, and shady behavior.

By completing KYC, you unlock full access to earning tools and ensure a safer space for everyone on KNKY.

✅ Your info stays private and is never visible to fans. It's encrypted, secured, and GDPR-compliant.

How long does KYC take?

A: Most creators get verified in under 5 minutes, but in some cases it can take up to 15 minutes to complete the full process. We recommend setting aside a few uninterrupted minutes to make it smooth and stress-free.

🔍 Pro Tip: Have your ID and a well-lit selfie ready to speed things up.

What happens if I don't pass KYC?

If your KYC verification doesn’t go through, your creator page will stay inactive.
That means you won’t be able to post or earn on the platform until the issue is resolved.

📩 We’ll let you know what went wrong and how to fix it - most issues are easy to correct with updated info or clearer photos.

I keep failing KYC/ID verification. What am I doing wrong?

KYC issues are usually easy to fix. To pass, you'll need a valid government-issued photo ID and a recent utility bill or bank statement (dated within the last 3 months).

Here are the most common reasons creators get flagged:

  • 📷 Blurry or Low-Quality Images
Make sure your ID and selfie are sharp, well-lit and in focus. No blur, no glare.

  • 🔍 Wrong Zoom Level
Your ID should be fully visible - don’t crop it too tight or leave it too far away.

  • 💡 Bad Lighting
Take photos in a well-lit area with no shadows or reflections.

  • 📅 Expired ID
Double-check the expiration date before uploading.

  • 🖥️ Low-Quality Webcam
Desktop webcams often struggle. Scan the QR code and use your mobile device instead - it’s faster and clearer.

💡 Pro Tip: Place a blank white sheet behind your ID for contrast, and take your selfie against a clean, solid background.

Why isn’t my camera working during KYC verification?

To complete KYC, you'll need to snap a photo of your ID and a selfie - so your camera needs permission to do its job.

Here’s how to fix it:

📱 Top Tip: We highly recommend using a mobile device - pass rates are faster and smoother on mobile cameras.
